Intro to NVC

9-Week Series

September 19th - November 14th 2020

Saturdays 10:00 am - 12:15 pm (EST)

Are you perpetually frustrated to discover that the relationships you'd most love to experience ease and closeness in, are the ones in which you experience the most pain, disconnection and misunderstanding?

And would you love to know how to "be" in those relationships in a way that would create the kind of closeness you're looking for?

Are you tired of feeling triggered or of triggering the people closest to you?

Would you cherish knowing how to dance in communication - knowing not only how to speak, but also how to listen - especially in those most challenging times, in a way that supported you to stay connected with the beauty, innocence and humanity of the other, all while getting your point across?

Do you just want to be understood?

This introduction to Nonviolent Communication pairs practical skills and a powerful consciousness that acknowledges the inner world of everyone involved. You will learn and be supported to turn conflict into closeness, judgment into acceptance and dissatisfied needs into fulfillment in your most important relationships.

I hear you, though.

You might be worried about whether or not this will be effective if you're the only using these skills.

It can't not work.

I love speaking to that concern, because it's so relieving to keep reminding myself and keep reminding others, that no matter how challenging what is coming at us might be (and I'm in no way meaning to minimize any of the challenges you might be facing), we'll always be at choice of how we listen and how we respond.

So even if the other person knows nothing about NVC - or even if they're against it - we can still choose to apply these tools with ourselves and with them, to remain connected with compassion.

Actually, our experience of NVC "working" or "not working" is 0% dependent on others and 100% dependent on us.

So empowering and liberating!

"Everything can be taken from a man but one thing: the last of the human freedoms—to choose one’s attitude in any given set of circumstances, to choose one’s own way."

"Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom."

-Victor Frankl
